Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. Diffly compares the two texts with JavaScript in your browser. Nothing you paste or open is sent to ToolBookly or anyone else.

How can a share link work without a server?

Both texts are compressed and placed in the link after the # sign. Browsers never send that part of a URL to a server, so the person who opens the link decodes the diff on their own device.

Do Diffly share links expire?

No. There is no database entry to delete, so a link keeps working as long as the link itself exists.

Yes. Open or drop any plain-text file (code, CSV, JSON, Markdown, logs) up to 5 MB on either side. The file is read locally.

Yes. Free forever, no signup, no limits on how often you compare.

100% Client-Side

Diffly compares texts and files entirely in your browser. No text or file is ever uploaded to any server. Share links store both texts, compressed, after the # in the URL. Browsers do not send that part of a URL to servers, and Diffly removes it from the page address it reports to analytics.
