Frequently Asked Questions

Are my colors uploaded or stored?
No. Colorly converts colors and checks WCAG contrast entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to ToolBookly. Optional share links put HEX values only in the URL hash (#), which never reaches the server.
What color formats does Colorly support?
HEX (#RGB / #RRGGBB), RGB (0–255), and HSL (hue 0–360, saturation and lightness 0–100%). Changing any field updates the others instantly. A native color picker is included.
How does the WCAG contrast check work?
Colorly uses the WCAG 2.1 relative luminance formula. It reports the contrast ratio and whether the pair passes AA or AAA for normal text (4.5:1 / 7:1) and large text (3:1 / 4.5:1).
Can I share a color pair?
Yes. Use Copy share link. The link stores foreground and background HEX in the hash fragment only, so it works offline after load, never expires, and is not logged as a server query.
Is Colorly free?
Yes. Free, no sign-up, no limits. It is part of the ToolBookly suite of browser tools.
