Markdown

The link contains your Markdown after the #. Anyone with the link can read it. Browsers never send that part to a server.

⚠️ Anyone who has the link can read the Markdown in it. Do not put passwords, tokens or personal data in a share link.

How to preview Markdown

1
Type or paste Markdown

Edit on the left. Nothing is uploaded — the draft stays on your device.

2
Watch the live preview

GFM tables, task lists and code blocks render on the right, sanitized for safety.

3
Copy HTML or download .md

Grab the sanitized HTML or save a .md file for later.

4
Share a link that never expires

Copy a link with your Markdown after the #. No account, no expiry.

A Markdown preview that keeps your draft private

Markly renders GitHub Flavored Markdown with the marked library and sanitizes the HTML with DOMPurify before showing it. Your text never leaves your device. When you share, everything is packed into the link after the #, which browsers never send to servers, so there is no database of saved drafts and the link never expires.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my Markdown uploaded anywhere?
No. Markly parses and previews Markdown entirely in your browser. Your draft never leaves your device; nothing is sent to ToolBookly or saved on a server.
How do share links work without a server?
Your Markdown is compressed and placed in the link after the # sign. Browsers never send that part of a URL to a server, so whoever opens the link decodes it on their own device. Many Markdown preview and pastebin sites save your text in a database; Markly has no database, no account and no list of saved links.
Do Markly share links expire?
No. Everything lives in the link itself, so it keeps working for as long as the link exists, and nobody can delete it from a server. Very long documents make long links, so trim them before sharing if needed.
Which Markdown flavor does Markly use?
GitHub Flavored Markdown (GFM): tables, strikethrough, task lists, autolinks and fenced code blocks, rendered with the marked library and sanitized with DOMPurify so embedded scripts cannot run.
Is the HTML preview safe?
Yes. Raw HTML in your Markdown is passed through DOMPurify before it is shown. Script tags, iframes and event-handler attributes are stripped. Still, only open share links from people you trust.
Can I download my Markdown or copy HTML?
Yes. Download a .md file of what you typed, or copy the sanitized HTML of the preview to paste into another app.
Is Markly free?
Yes. Free, no sign-up, no usage limits. It is part of the ToolBookly suite of browser tools.
