Free URL Encoder, Decoder & Query Inspector

Percent-encode and decode with encodeURIComponent or encodeURI, and edit query strings entirely in your browser. Optional short share links use the URL hash and never expire. Tokens and query strings are never uploaded.

🔒 Runs in your browser · Never uploaded · Share uses URL # only (short demos) · Works offline · Free, no sign-up

Best for query values and path segments

Stores mode + a short demo (max 200 chars) in the URL # only. Do not put secrets in share links.

Anyone with the link can read the demo text. Never share tokens, passwords, or long payloads this way.

A URL tool that never uploads your strings

URLly percent-encodes and decodes with the browser’s encodeURIComponent / encodeURI APIs and a matching query inspector. Your text, tokens, and query strings stay on your device. Optional share links store only mode plus a short demo in the URL hash — never long or sensitive payloads — so nothing hits ToolBookly servers and the link never expires.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my URLs or query strings uploaded?
No. URLly encodes, decodes, and edits query strings entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to ToolBookly. Optional share links store only a short demo sample in the URL hash (#), which never reaches the server.
What is the difference between encodeURIComponent and encodeURI?
encodeURIComponent encodes almost everything except letters, digits, and -_.!~*'(). Use it for query values and path segments. encodeURI leaves reserved URL characters (:/?#[]@!$&'()*+,;=) alone, so it suits whole URLs that already have structure.
What happens if I paste a bad percent sequence?
Decode shows a clear error when % is not followed by two hex digits (for example %ZZ or a lone %). Your input is not sent anywhere; the check runs locally.
Can I share what I typed?
Yes, optionally. Copy share link stores mode plus a short demo text (capped) in the hash only. Do not put secrets, tokens, or long payloads in share links. Processing still stays local.
Is URLly free?
Yes. Free, no sign-up, no limits. It is part of the ToolBookly suite of browser tools.
