Free UUID Generator & Validator

Generate UUID v4 (random) and UUID v7 (time-ordered, RFC 9562) with your browser’s cryptographic random generator. Batch up to 100, copy or download, and inspect any UUID for version, variant and timestamp. 100% client-side: UUIDs are never sent, logged, or put in the URL.

    How to generate a UUID

    1
    Pick v4 or v7

    Random UUIDs (v4) or time-ordered UUIDs (v7, RFC 9562).

    2
    Set format options

Uppercase or lowercase, with or without hyphens. Choose how many (1–100).

    3
    Generate or inspect

Create a batch, or paste an existing UUID to see version, variant and timestamp.

    4
    Copy or download

Copy one, copy all, or save a .txt file. Nothing is uploaded.

A UUID tool that never sees your IDs

Uuidly runs entirely in your browser. Version 4 UUIDs draw 122 bits from crypto.getRandomValues, the same cryptographically secure generator browsers use for encryption keys. Version 7 UUIDs (RFC 9562) prefix a 48-bit Unix millisecond timestamp with random bits so IDs sort by time while staying unique. The Inspect panel parses any UUID locally for version, RFC variant and, for v1/v6/v7, the embedded timestamp. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is logged, and UUIDs are never placed in the URL.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Are generated UUIDs sent or stored anywhere?
No. Uuidly generates and inspects UUIDs entirely in your browser with the Web Crypto API. Nothing is sent to ToolBookly, nothing is logged, and nothing is saved on a server. Once the page has loaded it even works offline.
What is the difference between UUID v4 and v7?
UUID version 4 is fully random (122 bits of randomness). UUID version 7 (RFC 9562) starts with a 48-bit Unix millisecond timestamp, then random bits, so IDs sort roughly by creation time while staying unique. Both use crypto.getRandomValues — never Math.random.
Can I validate or inspect an existing UUID?
Yes. Paste any UUID into the Inspect tab. Uuidly checks the format, reports the version and variant, and for v1, v6 and v7 extracts the embedded timestamp as ISO-8601 when present. Invalid input is rejected clearly.
Why is there no share link with my UUIDs?
UUIDs can identify records or sessions. Uuidly deliberately never writes generated UUIDs or inspect input into the page address, so links you copy cannot leak values into history or analytics.
How many UUIDs can I generate at once?
Up to 100 per batch. You can copy one, copy all, or download a .txt file. The download is created locally in your browser and never uploaded.
    Is Uuidly free?
Yes. Free, no sign-up, no limits. It is part of the ToolBookly suite of browser tools.
